If you are interested in Genealogy, visit the home page of the Kildare Heritage and Genealogy Company. They have information on sources for genealogical research in the county, and they can help you in tracing your ancestors via their comprehensive genealogical database. Their web-site also includes a fascinating local history section, including a massive archive of articles taken from the Leinster Express newspaper during the time leading up to and during the Great Famine.

There is also a heritage trail for the 1798 Commemoration. This Site has been produced by Kildare County Council 1798 Commemoration Committee, in association with Local Communities throughout County Kildare.

For a taste of Kildare's heritage try the Athy Heritage Centre pages. The Centre opened in April 1998, and the development of their web-site is still in its early stages. The Centre traces the history and heritage of Athy from its origin to the development of the modern town. It uses a combination of artefacts, interactive displays and video presentation to tell the story of Athy, "The Town on the Marches".
