John Hughes of Cloney, Athy

Peter and Sam Hughes from cheltenham (home of the gold cup) are searching for any information on John Hughes  (Pete's father) born 7 June 1904 in Cloney, parents John and Bridget nee Lawler.

He joined the Army in 1918 and ended up in Gloucester and married Henrietta South (from Millersdale in Derbyshire) in 1940.  He is thought to have had 2 brothers Tom and another who apparently drowned as a child and 3 sisters, Kathleen, Molly and Lilian.

Any information most greatly received. We are planning to visit Athy in late November 2004.
