Historically, the centre of Leixlip has always been Leixlip Castle

Leixlip Castle is built on a rock at the confluence of the Rivers Liffey and Rye.

The Castle is currently owned by the Hon. Desmond Guinness, founder of the Irish Georgian Society.

Features of interest to be found in the grounds of the castle are the gothic greenhouse, the temple seat, the gazebo and the gate lodge.

Opening Times:

9am to 1pm

March 1st - 3rd, 6th - 10th, 13th - 16th, 20th - 24th, 27th, 28th; 2nd - 28th May, 30th & 31st; September 18th - 29th.
