Busy Canal

I sat by the canal
Among the weeds
A world of colour
Surrounded me
A water hen in conversation
With a blackbird
Trees swayed in unison with the wind
Small insects busy in the water
Hurrying, drawing circles as they go
The long dragonfly
Stands in mid-air
Studying the mill wreath
The clover, daisy, dandelion and thistle
Grow in harmony together
My life is here
On your banks
Amidst the chorus of the singing birds
With time to marvel
At Gods creation
