A feature of these World Games will be the host Town Programme where all the participating teams will be hosted by local communities during the week 16 to 20 June prior to the Olympics. Each team will have an opportunity to relax and acclimatise. Teams will need accommodation, food and transport for the duration of their stay. Training facilities are to be provided for each of the 19 sports in the lead up to and during the Special Olympics.
