Shaker Peg Shelves

Our peg shelves include a 3” wide pegboard with beautifully beaded edges, 5¼"shelf with a groove for displaying plates and shelf brackets carefully copied from the original. Clear Eastern white pine. Holes bored 6" apart. Complete with Shaker pegs, ready for assembly and finishing. Stain or paint not included. Overall height 13".

Hanging Shelves

Shaker dwellings and shops abounded in utility shelves of various designs. This useful example was made in the mid-19th century. Kit includes metal hangers for attaching the shelves directly to a wall or leather thongs for hanging them from pegrail - both methods are traditional. Clear pine. Height 25".Width 27". Shelves are approximately 5", 6" and 7" deep.

Hanging Towel Rack

Towel racks like this were used by the Shakers in kitchens and ironing rooms. Ours is ideal for guest towels in the bathroom because it can be conveniently hung from pegboard, as shown, or on a door. An exact copy of a towel rack from the Mt. Lebanon , N.Y. community. Solid clear cherry, supplied with Oil Finish. Height 16". Width 24". Depth 4". Pegboard is sold separately.

Sabbathday Lake Towel Rack

Freestanding floor racks were commonplace in Shaker retiring rooms, kitchens and wash houses. This one, still in use by the Shakers at Sabbathday Lake, Maine community, is well suited for airing quilts and blankets, or drying socks and gloves. Hard maple. Height 33". Width 34". Depth 61/2". Length of Foot 12".
