In June 2014 we donated 500 euro from our mission fund to Laura Fennelly, a medical student of University College Cork, who volunteered in Africa with the Surgeon Noonan Society during the summer months. Laura is Miss Fennelly's niece, from Emo. In September, Laura came back to our school and spoke to the fifth and sixth class pupils about her work in hospitals and clinics in Tanzania. She gave a lovely presentation which included photographs of the people who were helped with our mission money. The money was used to purchase medical supplies and equipment for treating sick people in very poor areas of Tanzania. Her dedication in helping these poor  people was admirable. We think she will make a great doctor!
