Junior Cycle
Junior Cycle is the first phase of Secondary School, in First Year we offer a broad range of subjects to all pupils.
Art Business Studies CSPE
English French Geography
German History Home Economics
Irish Mathematics Physical Education
Religious Education Science SPHE
At the end of first year pupils then decide which subjects they wish to study for their Junior certificate. These choices are accomodated as much as possible.
Senior Cycle
(a) Leaving certificate programme
All students take Gaeilge, English, Mathematics, French, Religious Education and Physical Education as core subjects. Students choose options from the following;
Art Accounting Biology
Business Geography History
Home Economics (Social and Scientific)
Physics and Chemistry.
Honours and Ordinary in all subjects.
The above subjects are offered subject to demand.
(b) Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP)
The option of the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme was introduced in September 1997. The programme can be described as a Leaving Certificate with a strong vocational dimension. It provides students with the opportunity to release their potential for self directed learning, for innovation and for enterprise.
(c) Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA)
The option of the Leaving Certificate Applied was introduced first in
September 1999, and is available subject to demand. The programme offers
a wide range of courses, which are organised in modules. The Leaving Certificate
Applied is a new approach to education and training. Students apply their
knowledge, skills and experience to practical tasks at school, in the workplace
and the wider community.
