The artist’s intention was to connect with the community of Kildare to actively engage through visual art with Riverbank Arts Centre and the building’s public spaces. We have to say a huge THANK YOU to all who participated with this project. We are very happy to see the enthusiasm with which this project was received and we do believe that all who visit this installation will see a great expanse of creativity and attention to detail throughout. Visually it is a very striking, colourful and playful piece. It trails from the foyer gallery through Cupcake Café into the main foyer and comprises over 4, 000 individual pieces.
This interactive collaboration between artist, public and space highlights the possibilities of artistic engagement. Sinead chose to work with coloured vinyl adhesive film for this project which allowed for all ages to be involved…no previous experience required just imagination. It is a very simple concept but one that has yielded immense pleasure and we do hope it will continue to uplift and delight the viewers who come to see it between now and 19th December.
