Three New Club Divers
Congratulations and well done to Yvonne Wynne, Brenda Wynne and Pavel Smirnov who sucessfully passsed their Club Diver test at the Dublin South regional test on Saturday August 20th. Many thanks to all the instructors and other club members that helped with their preparation for the test, it is great for the club.
Pool training has now resumed
Pool training has now resumed in the Curragh pool from 7.45pm - 9pm. All NSAC members are encouraged to participate regularly in pool training to keep up water fitness.
Kilkee - June Bank Holiday Weekend
We had excellent diving over the weekend in Kilkee dispite the not so ideal wind conditions at times. Anything westerly is never comfortable when diving Kilkee. This did not prevent us getting in 6 x dives, starting with a dive on Middle Rock on the Friday evening and finishing up with a spectacular dive on the Pinnacle Monday morning before we left. The Pinnacle is certainly one of the best wall dives to be found anywhere off the Irish coast.
With the new motorway open you can now be launching a boat in Kilkee only 3 x hours after leaving the club house. We might visit Kilkee once again this year if we get the opportunity.
Mid Week Diving
Mid week diving is on every Wednesday, weather permitting. We will meet at 6.30pm sharp in the Coal Harbour, Dun Laoghaire, boat leaving slip at 7.10pm sharp. Please have your gear assembled, ready to load boat before we launch. Txt will be sent out on previous Tuesday IF diving, reply by Tuesday evening 7pm to give me time to organise boats etc. (NO TXT = NO DIVING)
Cylinder Filling/Club House Night.
Cylinder filling will then be on Tuesdays 8pm - 9pm and Thursdays before pool, 6.30pm - 7.30pm. (If no diving on the Wednesday, cylinders will be filled on the Wednesday evening 8pm - 9pm)
Wreck Saturday's
I also intend diving some of the deeper wrecks for those that are qualified (Ad Nitrox or Extended Range) on some Saturdays when the tides are suitable, starting with the Guide Me 11 off the Muglins in 38mt. I will expext a dive plan with full deco schedule to be e-mailed to me the previous night from those intending to dive. Where possible I will divide up groups/boats to dive the deeper Wexford wrecks on some Sundays. E.g. Lismore (37m), Idaho (40m), Anthony (56m).
May Bank Holiday - Malinbeg
The May Bank Holiday weekend in Malinbeg, Co. Donegal was a great success despite the sudden change in wind direction which prevented us from diving Rathlin O'Birne. We found a new dive site off Ross Point which provided excellent diving with 20 - 30m viz.
Dive cylinders will be filled in Club House on Wednesday evenings 8 - 9pm.
If you get a loan of a full dive cylinder - give it back full - refill it for the owner.

Pool Fitness Training
Pool training is there to enable all club members to train and get water fit. We have made arrangements to get into pool changing rooms at 7.45pm for a 8pm start. Please arrive on time and complete the full training session. There seems to be some connection between those members that arrive late or don't pool train and those who are unfit?
You won't get fit for scuba diving watching TV so get to the pool training early!
