Gozo 2013 Holiday
This years diving holiday to Gozo, Malta was one of the most enjoyable visits to this beautiful island in recent years. All the usual great dive sites were visited: Reqqa Point, Double Arch, Blue Hole, Inland Sea, Caminoland, Karwela, Middle Finger, Mgarr xini, Cathedral Cave, Xlendi Tunnel.........Even the illusive Bottle off Reqqa Point was found and dived twice. The Bottle is an enclosed verticle shaft that starts at 36m and exits at 59m on a sandy bottom. 208 dives were completed safely without incident over the 10 x days diving. While everyone has their own favorite dive, the highlight for me was hovering in the blue off the Double Arch at 35m in the middle of a shoal of barracuda which were circling around me within arms reach.A most enjoyable and affordable dive holiday!
New Club Divers
Congratulationa and well done to our latest CMAS Club Diver, Jonas Misevicius who sucessfully passed his test on Wednesday, August 28 in Dun Laoghaire.
Congratulationa also to Jonathan Dooley who sucessfully passed his CMAS Club Diver test on Saturday, August 24. A great achievment for Jonathan who only started diving with us this dive season.
August Bank Holiday Weekend
What a great weekends diving we had out of Castletownshend. It is unusual to get suitable conditions to dive the legendry U260 three mornings in a row with such great viz and what a find the 78' Rock was! The 78' Rock was teaming with shoals of fish swimming over jewel enonomea covered walls and crevices occupied by several crayfish. One of the best weekends diving of the 2013 dive season.
CFT Moniteur 4!!!!
Congratulations to Barry Lawler on becoming a CFT Moniteur 4, a very well deserved CFT grade for his vast contribution to CFT and Scuba diving over the years. (No, he is not that old, he started scuba diving when he was 16yrs)
