Cork Wreck Weekend

August 19, 2016

Cork Wreck Weekend

The Crosshaven “Wreck Weekend” was on Saturday August 13 & Sunday August 14, 2016.  In 2014 this weekend was the highlight of the years diving and for many this year was no different. With ideal diving conditions we managed to dive the HMT Morococala + SS Sento on the Saturday and the HMT Clifton+ SS Aud on the Sunday. With 10m+ visibility it was a fantastic weekends wreck diving and a great opportunity to get some extended range diving on the wrecks of Cork harbour. […]

August Bank Holiday Weekend – Killala, Co.Mayo

August Bank Holiday Weekend – Killala, Co.Mayo

August Bank holiday in Killala proved to be one of the best diving weekends this season for the Naas SAC members. Diving out of Lacken Pier left us in easy striking distance of both Dun Briste/Downpatrick Head and Killcummin Head which supplied some fantastic diving with 15 – 20m viz. Many thanks to Tanya Murphy who gave us plenty of information on all the top dive sites and great food from her restaurant, the Open Door on the Friday evening […]

Diving Hook Head, St. Patrick’s Weekend 2016

March 21, 2016

Diving Hook Head, St. Patrick’s Weekend 2016

We enjoyed great diving over the St. Patrick’s weekends off Hook Head where we completed 57 x dives. Congratulations to Paul Doyle and John McKenna who completed their first 5 x CMAS Trainee dives with Naas Sub-Aqua Club. The decision to bring the boat proved to be a good one as sea conditions were not favourable for shore diving on Thursday or Friday and we were able to dive off Naas 4. The visibility improved all weekend and there was 5 […]

Naas 4 RIB prepared for 2016 Dive Season

The 2016 Leading Diver candidates Alice O’Sullivan (DO), Charlotte Mellon (Secretary), Jonathan Dooley (Treasurer) and Jonas Misevicius (Assistant EO) obviously didn’t over indulge at the Pub Quiz last night.  They were over in the club house working on Naas 4 trailer on Saturday morning, replacing  the trailer brakes and wheel bearings, ensuring it’s road worthy for the 2016 dive season. The boat and trailer travels some 4,000 miles by road every year to some of the best dive sites off […]
