Adjudicators wanted for National TidyTowns 2016

Trainee Adjudicators for next year’s National competition

Each year, a National Panel of Adjudicators is appointed to adjudicatethe National TidyTowns competition.

TidyTowns arecurrently looking to recruit Trainee Adjudicators for next year’sNational competition.

The competition is adjudicated under thefollowing criteria:

1) Community Involvement& Planning - This section looks at the overall quality of the entry,town/village map and engagement with the local
community.

2) Built Environment and Streetscape -
Thissection looks at the design, sustainability and suitability of new andexisting buildings and public spaces.

3) Landscaping and Open Spaces - This section examines the approachto and suitability and maintenance of landscaping in the town.

4) Wildlife, Habitats and Natural Amenities - Thissection examines the wildlife management and the conservation activitiesbeing undertaken.

5) Sustainable Waste and Resource Management - This section examines waste management and effectiveuse of resources.


6) Tidiness and Litter Control - This section looks at evidence of litter control andawareness-raising activities and examines traffic management, signage andabsence of graffiti.

7) Residential Streets & Housing Areas
This section looks at the presentation of privateproperty, estates and open spaces.

8) Approach Roads, Streets & Lanes
This section examines the presentation ofapproach roads and signposting.


Applications are invited from candidates with suitable experience of the above criteria for the position of Trainee Adjudicator on the 2016 National Adjudicators Panel.

There are up to six positions available, and a number of these positions will be filled by applicants proficient in both English and Irish.

Individuals are asked to send a cover letter along with their CV to tidytowns@environ.ie by 5.00pm on Friday, 27th November.
The selection will be short listed and followed by a competitive interview process.
