Irish Champions Weekend Parade of Champions at the Curragh

Featuring Five Champion Hurdlers. Free Family Entertainment in Moyglare Kids Zone

Hurricane Fly, Jezki, Binocular, Hardy Eustace and current reigning champion Faugheen will be part of the star studded line up in the Parade of Champions on Day two of Longines Irish Champions Weekend at the Curragh.

Taking place in the parade ring after the first race, the parade will also include the legendary Moscow Flyer and Tattersalls Gold Cup winner Casual Conquest owned by Moyglare Stud, who was also placed in both the Irish and Epsom Derby.

Also parading will be Forpadydeplasterer, a prolific winner on the track and also successful in the recent “Racehorse to Riding Class” at the Dublin Horse Show for a second consecutive year and will be ridden side-saddle by his owner Joanne Quirke.

Evan Arkwright, Curragh Racecourse Commercial Manager, commented, “Longines Irish Champions Weekend is all about celebrating champions both past and present and we are delighted that racegoers will have the unique opportunity to see five Champion Hurdlers together for the first time.”

Another attraction for racegoers at the Curragh on Sunday September 13th is the free family entertainment taking place in the Moyglare Kids Zone, located adjacent to the main enclosure and close to the parade ring.

The Moyglare Stud Kids Zone will provide a variety of free entertainment for younger racegoers throughout the afternoon featuring the Pirates of the Caribbean themed show; special appearances by the legends of Star Wars and Mr Tayto; the chance to ride the racehorse simulator; an arts and crafts workshop; giant outdoor games; Front Runner Racing Club for Kids; face painting; go karts and bouncy castles.

The west end of the racecourse will also be a lively family area with more free entertainment for children, music and a variety of food and beverage outlets.
