Aims of the Kildare Age Friendly County Alliance
The aim of Kildare Age Friendly County Alliance, which will be led by the Local Authority, is to work with and within existing community structures, networks and service providers in the County to enhance communications and build awareness of the needs of older people in all aspects of their daily lives.
As a result of improved communications and greater awareness it will ensure that existing services to the elderly are delivered more efficiently and effectively and if gaps exist they will be highlighted and addressed.
Expected outcomes from Kildare Age Friendly County Alliance:
â—¦ To enhance and improve the lives of older people in the County.
â—¦ To enable older people live active and healthy lives.
â—¦ To enable older people remain in their own homes for as long as possible.
â—¦ To encourage older people to participate in local community and sporting activities.
â—¦ To help create an environment where older people feel safe in their community and in their own homes.
â—¦ Working in partnership with the Local Authority and State Agencies
â—¦ To help create a physical environment which is Age Friendly. In other words that buildings, footpaths, shops and all physical infrastructure is designed and constructed in an Age Friendly fashion.
