Launch of the Mid-East Regional Enterprise Plan

The Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys will launch the second of nine new Regional Enterprise Plans to drive job creation and support enterprise growth in the regions at Aras Chill Dara, Naas, today.

The new Plans complement and add value to the ongoing work of the Enterprise Agencies, LEOs, Regional Skills Fora, and other bodies involved in supporting enterprise development in the regional setting.

The new Mid-East Regional Enterprise Plan will support entrepreneurship and job creation, and identifies Strategic Objectives that will build on the region's strengths and address its vulnerabilities.

The plan has been designed by locals and is tailored for the needs of the Mid-East Region.

The Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys will also participate in a sod turning event for the development of the Mid East Regional Innovation Think Space, MERITS, which is a funding recipient of the first round of Enterprise Ireland's new €60m Regional Enterprise Development Fund.

MERITS is a new build project to cluster Irish and international new-technology companies, and provide mentorship and support in Naas, County Kildare.
