Mondello Park to welcome Junior Fiesta Drivers

Separate championship for junior drivers aged between 14 and 17 years

Over the past two seasons the Patch Tyre Equipment Fiesta Championship has grown into Ireland's biggest Motor Racing class. Its popularity has seen it grow steadily, with the addition of an overseas trip to the Brands Hatch Formula Ford Festival by the end of its first year and the introduction of a six hour endurance race by the end of year two.

With the championship proving so popular the series promoters, Mondello Park, are set to branch out further with a separate championship for junior drivers aged between 14 and 17 years old. This new series will be introduced for the 2015 season adding to the existing Junior Rallycross and Ginetta Junior options for young drivers.

The new Fiesta Junior Championship will run alongside the senior series and will race at five Mondello Park events during 2015. The ten round series will see drivers competing in cars of identical specification to the existing championship, allowing easy access for drivers through purchasing cars built for the senior series or sharing a car across both championships.

Entry to the series is open to drivers who are 14 years of age or older, and no older than 17, by the date of the first event on March 15th. Drivers will compete in five double header events between March and October, with their best nine scores counting towards the championship. Four of the events will be counting rounds for both championships, with the final event in October only counting towards the Fiesta Junior series.

Details of the new championship are available from Jenny Senior at Mondello Park or on the Mondello Park web site www.mondellopark.ie, where regulations and entry forms for both championships can be found.
