Interested in Community Development? Course starts September
County Kildare LEADER Partnership, in collaboration with Maynooth University, are running a Level 7 Certificate in Community Development & Leadership course in County Kildare. The course aims to facilitate the development & empowerment of the course participants and to enhance their leadership skills.
Facilitated by Maynooth University Tutors, modules include:
- Introduction to Community Development Studies
- Working with Groups
- Social Analysis for Community Studies
- Project Planning for Community Development
The course is funded under CKLP’s Social Inclusion Programme and expressions of interest are welcome from people who are 21 years or over and have the capacity to complete a level 7 Certificate.
Priority will be given to applicants from the Social Inclusion Programme’s beneficiary groups including Long Term Unemployed, People Parenting Along, Travellers, Older People, People with disabilities, Refugees/Asylum Seekers, LGBT Community.
Applications from volunteers & workers from community & voluntary sector will also be considered.
Course Duration: September 2014 – May 2015
Course Location: CKLP Jigginstown Commercial Centre, Naas, Co. Kildare
Course Times: 7 – 10pm each Thursday evening
Places will be allocated on the basis of information provided on expression of interest Form followed by a brief one-to-one interview.
Subsidised Fees: €200 (Unwaged & in receipt of social welfare benefit) €300 waged. Payment can be made in full at registration or by an arranged instalment plan. If paying by instalments all fees must be paid by December 2014.
