Naas Library would like to wish all of their patrons a very happy and prosperous New Year for 2018!

CAO Talk with Karl Hegarty
Tuesday, 23rd January, 7pm
Last year the Irish Times reported that 6,000 students drop out of their first year in college. Karl Hegarty from Leinster College will give a talk providing information and advice for students and their parents who are applying for third level education through the CAO system. What to choose? Where to choose? How to choose?

It will also include useful information on the application process itself and on the various options available. Booking required.

A fun book club for children aged 9-12 combining books with fun science experiments.

Story Time
Fridays 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th January, 10am– 10:30am
A half hour of stories and rhymes for children aged 2- 5 years.
No booking required.

Knitting Club
Every Wednesday 10:30am-12:30pm
All are welcome to join.

Creative Writing Group
Saturday, 13th January and 27th, 2:30pm-4:30pm
All are welcome to join.

Irish Language Group
Monday 15th, 29th January, 11am-12:30pm
Would you like to improve on your Irish? Come and join us and practise whatever Irish you know. Listen and join in when you are more confident.

Public Libraries Strategy Consultation 2018-2022
The Department of Rural and Community Development have opened a public consultation for the new Public Library Strategy 2018-2022. The Public Consultation Overview and the Submmission template are available in Naas Library or online through http://drcd.gov.ie/libraryStrategy/

Submissions can be made (using Survey Monkey) on this website, by emailing the downloadable form to libstrategyreview@drcd.gov.ie or in writing to Libraries Development and Community Policy, Department of Rural and Community Development, Government Offices, Ballina, Co Mayo, F26 E8N6. The closing date for submissions is 1st February 2018.

Texting and Email Service now available for requests!
If you wish to receive a text or Email (rather than a phone call) regarding books that have come into the library for you, please log into your account on www.kildare.ie/library. Go to 'All the Time' option and select 'Renew: Check Your Loans'. Log onto your account using your library card number and 4-digit pin. Go into 'edit account' enter your mobile number and/or Email address and click on the 'opt in' option for texts/ 'I would like to receive my notices from the library by: Email.' To access your account online you need a library PIN, please contact the library if you need to set this up.

Helpful Hints for Avoiding Fines at Naas Library
Renew Online
: Go to www.kildare.ie/library and enter your card number and PIN to access your account.
Telephone: Ring them at 045 - 879111 with your card number and a member of staff will renew your items for you.

They are available Monday to Saturday from 9:30am-1:00pm and from 2:00pm -5:00pm (until 8:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays).

Email: Contact them at naaslib@kildarecoco.ie with your card number and they will renew your items for you.
