Even companies renting can avail of cheaper utility bills - you don't have to own the premises.
Kildare-based Lyons and Calzo Accountants have switched from regular lighting to high performance LED lighting in the busy M4 Business Park near Leixlip. Owner and director John Lyons had been mindful of replacing the existing lighting in his rented offices.
‘I am not an owner and was conscious that any changes needed to be cost effective and offer a swift return on investment,’ says John. ‘A number of years ago I sought quotes from different parties but I was not impressed with their customer service – even at the sales end.’
John also needed to wait until his offices were consolidated onto one floor at which point he reviewed the lighting requirements. Having been stung before by disinterested salepeople, John approached his neighbouring business Get Solutions and spoke with the managing director Charlie Grendon.
‘I was delighted to find both a value for money solution and a quality guarantee,’ says John. ‘My experience in working with Get Solutions could not be more of a contrast – everyone was very courteous, the replacement took place after hours so as not to disrupt work and I was very happy to leave the men work without my presence.’
The work was completed over a number of evenings and at a weekend. Charlie Grendon says, ‘Even for a business person renting a premises it makes sense to switch to LED lighting.
