Who will be on the Strategic Policy Committees?
The committees will have nine members.

Three members will be drawn from the external sectors relevant to the committees work.

The remainder will be Local Authority representatives.

Local Authority Representation on SPCs
  • Each Councillor will be expected to sit on a minimum of one and a maximum of two committees.
  • Each of the Urban District Councils will nominate representatives to the SPCs.
  • The Chairperson will be a local councillor.
  • The SPCs will be supported by a Programme Manager assigned by the council.

External Representation

  • Organisations will be requested to apply for positions on the SPCs.
  • The council will decide which organisations represent each sector.

Each selected organisation will then select their own nominee.
