Naas Union - October 23rd, 1841

Page 2 Column a

At a meeting, of the Board of Guardians of the Naas Union, held on Wednesday 13th October 1841, the following address was moved by John Burtchell, Esquire, seconded by Peter Lyons Esquire, unanimously adopted and ordered to be inserted on the minutes.

TO

Richard Michaux Muggeridge, Esq. Assistant Poor Law Commissioner.

Sir, we the Board of Guardians of the Naas Union, beg to testify to you our marked approbation of the integrity, ability and impartiality, which have invariably guided you in the difficult and arduous duties attendant upon the formation of the Union. We have invariably found you guided by a continual desire and always in the most courteous manner to meet in every respect the wishes of the Board of Guardians, as far as was consistent with the law and your duty: and your subsequent co-operation with the Guardians in brining the poor law in to operation, calls upon us, unanimously, to bear witness to the valuable assistance we have at all times derived from your exertion.

We are Sir, most respectfully your obedient servants,

(Signed on behalf of the Board)

Marm C. Cramer Roberts,

Chairman.
