Heritage Week is a part of a European initiative to encourage people to take an interest in their local Heritage.

The aim of heritage week is to foster a greater understanding and awareness of our own local heritage.

This listing of events has been complied by Kildare County Council.

Most events listed here are free. Children are welcome but young children should be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Military Medal Fair
Athy Heritage Centre and Museum

The museum boasts the only permanent exhibition to Sir Ernest Shackleton, the South Pole explorer in the county of his birth. Admission €3.
