Leixlip Litter Warden

If you are aware of incidences of littering, just contact the litter wardens and they will act on the information (including seeing people discarding litter from vehicles- just take a note of the vehicle registration). An on-the-spot fine of €125 may be issued. If the offence is of a serious nature or the fine goes unpaid, the offender may be taken to court where fines of up to €3,000 may be issued.

Freephone Hotline Litter: 1800-243143

If you would like to talk to the Leixlip litter warden, Peter O' Mahony, in confidence, you can meet him by arrangement. You can also telephone Peter directly to report littering on 087-2533702

Illegal Dumping

Illegal dumping generally refers to littering on a large scale. This includes abandoned vehicles, furniture, illegal dumps in old quarries and on agricultural land. KCC employs a number of engineers to ensure that this dumping is tackled. If you are aware of illegal dumping you can report it in strict confidence. We may need to take your contact details in order to locate the specific site, but you will not be called as a witness if you do not wish to.

Illegal Dumping Hotline: 045-980588

Alternatively, you can contact the Environmental Protection Agency- they have a dedicated Hotline: 1850365121 or see http://www.epa.ie/
