GAA Easton Road flowerbed

The flowerbed outside the new GAA pitch on Easton Road is finished. We planted the last few Ash trees on Saturday 27th January. On the 5th of February we finished planting the shrubs and spread the rest of the gravel.

Volunteers wanted

What work will I be doing if I become a volunteer?

Much of the work entails litter picking, sweeping, weed control, hedge, clipping, painting, planting as well as some administration and fund raising. Heavier work for the more muscle endowed involves digging, machine operating, building and erecting signs.

Areas covered include all approach roads, Louisa Bridge, Cope Bridge, Confey Station, Distillery Lane, Main St. Celbridge Rd. Green Lane. etc.

This is your opportunity to play your part in helping the Leixlip Tidy Town Association keep Leixlip clean.

Please come along and join in, you will make a difference.

Leixlip Litter Warden

If you are aware of incidences of littering, just contact the litter wardens and they will act on the information (including seeing people discarding litter from vehicles- just take a note of the vehicle registration). An on-the-spot fine of €125 may be issued. If the offence is of a serious nature or the fine goes unpaid, the offender may be taken to court where fines of up to €3,000 may be issued.

Freephone Hotline Litter: 1800-243143

If you would like to talk to the Leixlip litter warden, Peter O' Mahony, in confidence, you can meet him by arrangement. You can also telephone Peter directly to report littering on 087-2533702

Illegal Dumping

Illegal dumping generally refers to littering on a large scale. This includes abandoned vehicles, furniture, illegal dumps in old quarries and on agricultural land. KCC employs a number of engineers to ensure that this dumping is tackled. If you are aware of illegal dumping you can report it in strict confidence. We may need to take your contact details in order to locate the specific site, but you will not be called as a witness if you do not wish to.

Illegal Dumping Hotline: 045-980588

Alternatively, you can contact the Environmental Protection Agency- they have a dedicated Hotline: 1850365121 or see http://www.epa.ie/

Annual Collection

Leixlip Tidy Town Annual door-to-door collection will begin this week.

The Garda authorities have granted us permission for our annual door-to-door collection.....

LTTA Annual Door-to-Door Collection

The Garda authorities have granted LTTA permission for their annual door-to-door collection in Leixlip. Authorised collectors, whom are all active LTTA members, will carry out the collection during the months of  February & March.

Residents should satisfy themselves as to the credentials of the collector. All collectors will carry a letter of authority with them.

The annual door-to-door collection is our main, independent means of funding our projects.

The annual collection will also be accompanied by our Newsletter which was prepared by Catherine Quirke, LTTA's Honorary Secretary.
