Leixlip Main Street Plaza
The Opening Cermony of The Plaza was held on Thursday evening. Despite the wind and rain, there was a good turnout for the cutting of the ribbon by The Cathaoirleach, Councillor Sean Purcell.
LTTA was well represented, with almost all the committee and several of our volunteers present for the cermony. The Plaza project was undertaken by the Leixlip Town Improvements Committee led by Councillor Paul Kelly.
Later, back at the Leixlip House Hotel, Town Clerk Ann Heffernan gave a warm welcome to all those present. There were speeches by The Cathaoirleach, Councillor Kelly and Town Manager Peter Minock.
There was a special award given to Mr. Joe Price for his contribution to Leixlip. The Cathaoirleach presented him with a recent framed aerial photograph of Leixlip.
