Jack Wall leaving Athy council

ATHY 21 February 2003: Deputy Jack Wall is to resign his seat as an Athy town councillor, on foot of the dual mandate legislation currently being prepared.

He has been a member of the council since 1994. His replacement will be nominated at a Labour Party selection meeting on March 11.

Meanwhile, Cllr John Lawler has now joined the Labour Party in Athy, ending a three-year stint as an independent following a split with the Fianna Fail party over the Inner Relief Road.
