Naas company completes major Tesco order

NAAS, 9 November: by Brian Byrne. Naas based Toughline Manufacturing Ltd has recently completed a contract to supply Tesco Ireland with 42 road trailers. The contract follows a previous order for 20 similar Toughline trailers and completes a £1.65 million supply contract.

The Curtainside triaxle trailers will form part of the Tesco Ireland fleet responsible for distributing products from depots in Tallaght and Ballymount to all 77 Tesco Ireland stores around the country.

Toughline Manufacturing Ltd employs 52 people in the Naas, Co Kildare facility and produces over 260 articulated trailers, 480 bogies and 4500 axles a year.

Commenting on behalf of Tesco Ireland, Joe Grennan, Corporate Purchasing Manager, said "Toughline Manufacturing Ltd has an excellent reputation for delivering top quality trailers both in Ireland and abroad and we are delighted to have placed this contract with them".
