Subsidised school transport mooted

NAAS 17 January 2003: Transport to schools may be subsidised by Naas Town Council under a new allocation in the town's 2003 Budget, recently adopted by the council.

The E25,000 allocation could also be used to set up cycle lanes, councillors have been told.

Acknowledging that it was a relatively small amount of money, under the Transport Framework Study Initiative, Naas town clerk Declan Kirrane said it 'might help to kick-start a few small initiatives'.
