Reskilling for Schneider employees

12 October 2003: FAS is to undertake an analysis of labour market needs in the Celbridge area, along with an audit of the skills of workers at Schneider Electric who are to lose their jobs in February.

The company is to close with the loss of 315 jobs.

The Tanaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Mary Harney TD, has told the Dail that IDA Ireland is to market the facility abroad, and an updated profile of the plant is being circulated to IDA Ireland offices.

The Kildare County Enterprise Board is among a number of agencies which are working to identify enterprise opportunities to replace the Schneider jobs.
