Councillors consider Naas rezonings

07 October 2003: Naas councillors have 10 weeks to consider more than 70 submissions for rezonings which have been received in relation to the next Naas Development Plan.

The applications are understood to relate to more than 700 acres, mostly for residential rezoning.

The next Draft Town Plan must be ready for public display by the end of next April, and must be adopted by 22 May 2005 at the latest.

The last Naas Town Plan was adopted by a majority of councillors despite a warning from senior county officials that the large-scale rezonings then being contemplated would overload the town's infrastructures.
