Motions on Lakelands parking problem

NAAS, 18 June 2002: by Brian Byrne. Two motions to deal with the parking problems at Lakelands in Naas are on the agenda for tonight’s meeting of Naas Town Council.

Cllr Timmy Conway and Cllr Pat McCarthy are both requesting that a ‘resident only’ parking provision be immediately activated in Lakelands, which has had severe difficulties with parking by visitors and construction workers and staff at Naas Hospital. The situation has been exacerbated since the introduction of pay-parking in the town, with many people using the estate as a free car park.

Cllr McCarthy also wants resident only parking activated at The Sycamores on the Sallins Road, which has suffered similarly since the introduction of pay-parking.
