School possibilities for Naas, Prosperous

07 October 2003: New schools for Naas and Prosperous could go to tender if substituted for other schools elsewhere in the country that are listed as 'very urgent high priority projects'.

That's according to the recent Comptroller and Auditor General's Report, which lists school projects in the Department of Education section.

No schools in Kildare are listed under the 'very urgent high priority' category. Nor were any listed for construction in 2002, the year the report refers to.

Elsewhere in the report it is revealed that almost €12.8 million of public money was invested in the exhibition facility on the privately-owned Punchestown Racecourse.
