Naas to extend pay park for businessman?

NAAS 29 January 2003: Naas's town engineer is to be asked to look at the possibility of extending the pay parking system down the Ballymore Road in an attempt to deal with a problem of all-day parking by people not willing to pay for the facility.

The matter will be considered as part of a review of the pay parking system early in this year.

The matter came up in reference to problems experienced by Swans of the Green, whose business is being affected by the monopolising of free car spaces by all-day parking.

A recent meeting was told that Mr Swan would be in favour of the extension of pay parking along the road.

Town clerk Declan Kirrane also suggested that a strip of land could be taken from the Fair Green to provide car parking bays.
