Motor Tax Office to close for changes

NAAS, 18 June 2002: by Brian Byrne. The Motor Taxation Office in Friary Road, Naas, will be closed on June 21 to facilitate a changeover in systems dealing with motor tax and driving licences.

This is to bring the office in line with government proposals for the development of a national driver/vehicle database.

Kildare County Council says there are likely to be longer than usual queuing times for a while after the office repoens on Monday June 24 as the changeover is absorbed and incorporated into normal working arrangements. During this time, it suggests that customers may find it more convenient to send application by post and says the office will ensure that postal applications are dealt with speedily.
