Councillors seek road safety measures

MAYNOOTH 15 January 2003: Road safety measures for the Celbridge Road, Maynooth, are on the agenda for the next Leixlip Area Meeting which takes place on the afternoon of 17 January.

Cllr Senan Griffin has placed a motion looking for improved public lighting from the Gael Scoil to the Straffan Road junction, and that safety barriers be put in place at a number of places, incoluding the exits from the Maxol Station, 67 Railpark, and the top end of Laurence Avenue.

He has also asked that the hedge and shrubbery be pruned back at the junction to the Straffan Road, and that the Main Street/Straffan Road junction be resurfaced.

In addition, Cllr John McGinley is asking for a footpath on the Celbridge Road from the Railpark corner opposite the Maxol Station to the Railpark bus stop.
