NAAS 10 January 2003: It costs 30 cents for people to use the new Superloo in Naas. But they shouldn't feel they're being short-changed for 'spending a penny'.
Because it looks like the good people of Naas Town Council are subsidising that call of nature by a factor of 12.
In other words, it should be costing E3.60 a pop, or a pee.
Because the council is going to be paying E30,000 this year for 'rental and maintenance' of the Superloo. And they are only expecting an income of E2,500 for providing the convenience. Or 8,333 'pee'ple using it for the year.
They'd need 100,000 'visitors', as they were tweely described at a recent council meeting, to make it pay its way at 30c.
This 'best bargain' in Naas is situated behind the Town Hall. Be prepared to queue.
