New library/arts centre on schedule

17 October 2003: Leixlip’s new Library and Arts Centre is set to be ready to open early in the new year.

The facility will include spaces for art, information technology, video and music. In addition, musical instruments will be available on loan and there will be practice rooms.

A digital learning centre and research and local studies facilities will also be part of the centre, which is being built on the Newtown House site.

Meanwhile, work is about to begin on a new Youth Centre on the same campus, in parallel with the restoration of the 18th century building.
