Rubbish dumping slammed by town clerk

LEIXLIP 10 January 2003: Dumping of refuse at the entrance to Newtown House in Leixlip has been angrily condemned by Leixlip town clerk Mary Foley.

The Town Council offices are located at Newtown House, which also has an ongoing vandalism problem.

The situation has been exacerbated by the ending of a local CES scheme in December, whose members were available to clear up unauthorised rubbish.

Boxes and bags of bottles left beside a Rehab recycling collection facility when it is full are also causing difficulties, and Ms Foley has appealed for householders not to leave bottles is the containers are full.
