Link road comes closer in Kilcullen

Councillors and members of Kilcullen Community Action recently looking at the site for a suggested link road for the town.

KILCULLEN, 31 July 2002: by Brian Byrne. The prospect of a ‘local distribution road’ in Kilcullen to allow traffic from the Newbridge Road to acces the Athy Road and the Motorway without going into Kilcullen itself has moved closer.

This follows the lodging of a planning application with Kildare County Council for a change in locations for six houses on property being developed at Gort na Greine. The relocation will ‘provide land to Kildare County Council’ for the future construction of a roadway on the developer’s property.

The road section on that property will join a proposed road to a planned business park and another part-built road running alongside the Castlemartin Lodge development. It will also improve access to Kilcullen’s GAA Club.
