New local radio station from Sunday

27 January 2004: Kfm, Kildare's own radio station, goes on the air on Sunday February 1, replacing CKR which has held the 97.3 and 97.6 broadcasting slots since local radio began

The station, which has as its directors such local business and broadcasting names as Billy Mulhern, Noel Shannon, Clem Ryan, David Mongey, Anna May McHugh and Majella Duane O'Hanlon is promising a lively mix of music, news and views and speciality programming.

The weekday schedule begins with the Sunrise on Kfm, 6am to 9am, goes through the morning with Kildare Today, 9am to 12pm, with weekly lifestyle slots on health, property, motoring, special-interest issues, crime, cultural matters as well as direct reporting and investigation of local issues.

The Daily Brunch, 12pm to 3pm, is a light and easy mix of music, chat, listeners' requests, news, sport, weather and competitions.

Rolling Home, 3pm to 7pm will combine the best of music and information with regular traffic and travel reports encompassing Dublin's main commuter routes to County Kildare.

Nighttime and weekend programmes will have something for all tastes.
