New tracking system for representation

COUNTY HALL, 12 January 2002: by Bill Trapman. Kildare County Council has engaged a firm of consultants to develop software to address the issue of an efficient system of replies to representations made by councillors. It is the first of its type in any Irish local authority.

"Quite a bit of work has been done and the Council are expecting the various departments to be live on the system within the next few months," says Cllr Catherine Murphy. "It will guarantee an acknowledgement within three days and a reply within 21 days and should dramatically improve the service both the Council and councillors can provide to the public."

Meanwhile, KCC expects to have weekly planning lists available on request soon, and it will be possible to make this request on its kildare.ie web site shortly.
