Horse county emphasis at Holiday Fair

26 January 2004: Horse trainer and racing commentator Ted Walsh whipped up some enthusiasm for his native county at Ireland’s biggest consumer holiday show, the Holiday World Experience, at the RDS on Friday.

For the purposes of the show County Kildare Fáilte, the county tourism marketing company, concentrated on key areas of activity specifically suited to the Dublin market; equestrian, golf and family days out.

Friday was the 'Thoroughbred County' day, with a horsey flavour to the competitions and a focus on racing, trekking and show jumping.

Saturday was designated Ryder Cup County day, and the spotlight was on the golf products Kildare has to offer on over 20 top class courses

The emphasis on the Sunday were day trips in Kildare.
