Greengate Festival previews in Naas

NAAS, 27 July: by Brian Byrne. A preview of some of the entertainment planned for the upcoming Greengate Festival in Naas was presented in the Council Chamber of Naas Town Hall on Thursday night.

Other performers scheduled for the day, which will involve an open air concert outside Naas Courthouse as well as face-painting, clowns, jugglers and buskers in a strong street entertainment event, include Nas Na Rí Set Dancers, Naas Musical Society, Clane Musical Society, and a number of solo artists.

A second stage in the car park behind National Irish Bank will provide an alternative music venue with performances local rock bands, including Avarice, Earwig, and Billy No Mate.

The event is an initiative by Naas Youth Parliament, and was prompted by an idea that something should be organised to replace the Punchestown Festival which was cancelled due to FMD restrictions. Coordinator of the festival is Alastair Conway.
