GAA pitch space request put on hold

NAAS, 9 May 2002: by Trish Whelan. A decision on whether to allow Naas GAA use a pitch in Monread District Park (above) for juvenile training at weekends was deferred by Naas Town Council at its latest meeting.

But the mood of councillors was emphatically against the request from the GAA, with only Cllr Eibhlin Bracken saying she favoured it.

In a report, Naas town clerk Declan Kirrane said in the past the Council had decided not to allocate pitches to any group in the town. He would not recommended this be changed.
