Young people help Eritreans

ATHY 15 January 2003: The proceeds of a massive aid effort by students at scoil Mhuire in Athy are being brought to the children of Eritrea by members of the Irish defence forces stationed in the war-torn area.

They've collected around 40 bags of clothing and toys as well as books, typewriters and blankets.

The young people spent the last three months collecting the aid, and the effeort followed a similar but short-notice collection during the summer.
