School absenteeism 'due to Arthurstown'

KILL 21 February 2003: Parents of children at Kill National School fear that cases of illness at the school could be linked to the landfill at Arthurstown.

They're asking the Environmental Protection Agency to investigate the matter. The site is operated by South Dublin County Council.

Smells from the direction of the dump have been evident for a number of years, and the residents first raised the issue with the EPA two years ago. In addition to further contact with the EPA, they are now considering a protest action.
