Festival of Youth Drama

11 July 2003: Crooked House Theatre Company in association with the Riverbank Arts Centre is presenting a four-day Festival of Youth Drama from Monday 28 to Thursday 31 July at the Riverbank. The event is sponsored by Wyeth Medica.

Youth groups from around Kildare are taking part, and each will have the opportunity to perform a piece or pieces of drama of their own choice at the Riverbank Arts Centre as well as take part in a host of workshops including drama, movement, dance, mime and puppetry. They include Celbridge Youth Drama, Prosperous Young Drama, Griese Players from Ballitore and Kildare Youth Theatre from Newbridge.

Performances will include ‘The Low Terrace’ by John McKenna, ‘The Clowns Macbeth’ by Wayne Anthoney, ‘Act Three Scene Five’ by Terry Ortwein, ‘The Monster that ate 3B’ and ‘The Minotaur’ by Jan Maloney.

The opening ceremony for the festival will take place at 7.30pm on Monday 28th July at the Riverbank.

Performances for the four days start at 8pm and tickets are available at Riverbank Box Office on 045 448333. Tickets cost E7, under 12s E4.
