Bus owner to meet Naas Town Council tonight

16 September 2003: Mr JJ Kavanagh of Kavanagh’s Buses is to give a presentation to members of Naas Town Council in the Council Chamber this evening at 7.30pm to explain why he ended the local Naas Town Bus Service.

The service, which ceased at the start of the summer without warning, has left many elderly people housebound as well as leaving shoppers and school children to find other means of transport.

The Council is anxious to see the service restored as soon as possible.

Tonight’s Council meeting will also see a presentation by Mr J Boland, Director of Services Road Transportation and Environment, Kildare County Council (at 8.30pm) on the proposed controversial ring road in Naas.

The meeting is open to the general public from 7.30pm.
