Pupils pull a surprise on Con

NEWBRIDGE, 6 August 2002: by Brian Byrne. The director of the Leinster School of Communications, Con O’Sullivan, was given a surprise presentation of one of his own plays by his former pupils to honour his recent 80th birthday.

The event was held in Hotel Keadeen, and the play was a one-acter ‘Crossfire’ which was based on his own family history in the Civil War times.

A former Lt-Colonel in the Irish Army, he set up the Leinster School of Communications when he retired. His students in speech and drama were prepared for the examinations operated by the London School of Speech and Drama. The Leinster School of Communications is 50 years old.

At the surprise event, he was made a number of presentations.
